Canopy
A canopy is a lightweight structure that is designed to
provide protection from the elements, including rain and sun. Unlike
a tent, however, these structures do not have any walls, per se. Instead,
they are simply a frame with some form of fabric pulled taunt over the
top.
A canopy can be made to nearly any size specifications. Small canopies
are commonly used to shade a patio table or other such furniture. However,
canopies can be made large enough to shelter a truck, RV or boat as
well.
The fabric used to create the “roof” of a canopy can be
made from any number of materials. Plastic and polyester are commonly
used because of their durability and weather resistant qualities. However,
heavy canvas can also be used, as can mesh netting material.
